If you're like me, you need food upon rising! And maybe you ran out of your pre-prepped Mayescakes
I am starving when I wake up! And sometimes you just need to get that food in your pie hole!
This is a great way to have breakfast warm and ready to go as soon as you're out of bed. Perfect to throw in the crockpot on a Saturday night... then there's breakfast for the whole family Sunday morning when you're rushing around to get to church!
And leftovers are perfect to save for the next day! Heat them up at home or take to work all week!
Or pop it in the microwave while you get ready for work and eat quick before you head out the door!
What you need:
4 cup oats
10 egg whites (a few yolk are ok... just remember that's where the fat is :))
1 large apple cut into cubes
1/2 cup maple syrup (or if you're ok with sugar free.. that's what I use)
cinnamon, I am terrible at measuring... I just sprinkle sprinkle....
flax for texture if you wish
Fill crockpot with all items, cover with water, stir...
Let sit over night
On low for approx 5 hours
Wake up to a delicious smell throughout your home!
Serve to family
Enjoy!
Want to make it your own?.... add craisins or almonds or coconut flakes.... maybe even go crazy and add some chocolate chips?! You're the chef, do what you want!
